The real deal. Nice clear rawhide and very well trimmed (i.e., straight).

This is exactly what I was looking for. Quality looks good, price is excellent, and the shipping was prompt. Thank you!

Paper thin. Completely useless for any drum that requires any sort of tension. Probably fine for decorative purposes.

I needed rawhide lace for a special project. Montana Leather was responsive in delivering my order. Unfortunately, it is not quite what I needed. I would definitely order from them again when the need arises.

I was surprised with the prompt delivery of the rawhide. It is very uniform and the price is great. I gave a four star review, instead of five, only because I haven’t used it yet. I am sure this won’t be my last order. Thank you.

pretty disappointed, rawhide was weak and broken once laced up. called the store to ask for more info, maybe i didn’t handle it correctly.. was told “no one handles rawhide here so we don’t know” pretty disappointing experience and definitely a last

Hey Jackson! I’m sorry to hear the rawhide lace wasn’t to your liking. Rawhide can be tricky to work with, but first of all you need to have good quality product, and if your rawhide lace is easily tearing, you may have a bad spool we need to replace (which we’d be happy to do!). Secondly, the rawhide lace needs to be thoroughly cased, or soaked with water, before you start bending and tightening it. Lastly, once the lace is taught, you have to make sure it isn’t too tight, which is something that comes with experience like so many other things in leather craft. If you have questions or need to start a return, please email or call us.

Happy to have found this product. Why didn’t using rawhide dawn on me 5 decades ago? I do wish the thickness was consistent throughout the bundle I received.

Nice strand cut well and strong. Using it for the belly of this postillion whip. For reenactments.
